Undoubtedly the villages architectural highlight is St Anne’s Church which is situated in the centre of the village.

Places close by well worth a visit include Sainillas Castle which dates back to the reign of Charles 111, built to protect the area from marauding Berber pirates.

Also locally is the impressive Port of Duquesa with berths for over 300   boats of all kinds arguably the finest port of it’s kind on the Costa del Sol

Roman baths at La Hedionda (all though later restored by the Moors) ordered to be built by Julius Ceasar no less in gratitude after it’s sulphurous water cured hManilva Welcome on the Costa del Solim of a curious skin disease.

Numerous archaeological finds in the area suggest a number of settlements in the area possibly dated back to prehistoric times.

The most notable at Sabinillas where evidence suggests once stood a Roman village.
